A blog dedicated to the words, art, and music of the one and only Jeffrey Scott Buckley made by fans, for fans. Here, you'll find articles, audio, interviews, reviews, and videos from 1990-1997, as well as art, autographs, and writings. Enjoy and pay it forward, but PLEASE link back and credit if you use anything (a note: for best viewing, "desktop view" is recommended)...Thanks! 🙂
This is actually a montage of two separate appearances at the Musiqueplus studios that Jeff's estate asked said organization to put together, after he died. Notice his hair and outfit are different throughout. His hair is hanging over his face during the interview at the start and his hair is slicked back and his clothes are different in the latter interview segment and acoustic performance. The other date for this would either be 25 June 1994 or 25 October 1994. It is probably the latter, given Jeff's hair length and the proximity to his MuchMusic and Trinity Church appearances in Toronto, just 3 days later. The separate appearances this video encompasses was confirmed to me by a Musiqueplus representative whom I chatted with re this particular footage. Below is a copy of his response to me:
ReplyDelete"Hi,
Buckley came to the studios on May 27, 1995 before his gig at the Montreal Spectrum promoting the "So Real" tour.
He played 4 songs: "So Real", "Lover You Should've Come Over", "Last Goodbye" and "Grace" in that particular order.
In the YouTube segment, the first interview we see is taken from another time he came at the studios. This was part of a MP montage made specifically because of his death.
Sony Music asked at the time that 2 videos could be made for promo purposes out of our live feed and be played as music videos. In that case, "So Real" and "Lover You Should've Come Over" were chosen."

Yes, I figured it was two different interviews based on his outfits and compiled after the accident because of the big lettering, but thanks much for sharing...very cool that they replied to you and we learn some new info! *now if only they'd release the rest of the footage...*
